This piece builds on the different chats I had last month with Andrew Shafik on the Football Medicine & Performance Association podcast, and on the Robert Pacey podcast from Sportsmith about making sports teams work better by being clearer about what everyone’s supposed to do.
We dived deep into how we can bring clear, objective practices into sports teams, much like the structured Human resources strategies in successful businesses.
🛠️ The idea is simple: sports teams can achieve more by setting clear roles, objectives, and measures of success for everyone involved. This approach, which starts with reviewing each department and person’s role, isn’t just about making things more systematic. It’s about making sure the whole team behind our athletes can grow and perform at their best, ultimately leading to success on the field.
